DAVE STERRETT is the director of Disruptive Truth, an evangelistic ministry that shares the credibility of Christ to seekers, trains believers in evangelism, and reaches out to schools through presentations on ethics and human dignity. He is the author or co-author of six books including the Christian best-seller I Am Second (Thomas Nelson), Why Trust Jesus? (Moody Publishers), and Is the Bible True…Really? (Moody Publishers). Sterrett contributed multiple articles to the Apologetics Study Bible for Students (B&H Publishing) and has written op-ed articles, defending the existence of God and the sanctity of unborn children for major publications including The Washington Post. He has been interviewed by dozens of radio programs and appeared on Christian television programs like 100 Huntley, TBN, CBN and DayStar.
Dave Sterrett has lectured on the credibility of Jesus Christ, the existence of God and human dignity at Duke University, Benedictine College, Louisiana State University, University of North Texas, and University of Texas, Dallas and has ministered in Costa Rica, Canada, Mexico, Ivory Coast and Uganda. Dave co-authored four books with evangelist Josh McDowell, whom Dave has ministered with in Poland, Russia and various places in the United States. Sterrett co-launched the I Am Second chapter at LSU with NFL player Bradie James. He has spoken to multiple professional, college and high school athletes through FCA, I Am Second or other educational events. Sterrett has taught over thirty college course sections of Theology, Philosophy, New Testament, and Apologetics at Liberty University and San Diego Christian College.
As a pro-life educator and sidewalk counselor, Dave serves on the national board of 40 Days for Life and is a speaker for the Life Training Institute, founded by Scott Klusendorf. Dave graduated from Oak Hill Academy where he won a national championship in basketball. Dave then graduated from Liberty University where he studied under apologist Dr. Gary Habermas. He went on to earn a Master’s of Arts in Apologetics from Southern Evangelical Seminary where he was mentored by Dr. Norman Geisler and earned his second Master of Arts degree in Philosophy from the University of Dallas, where he wrote his thesis refuting the naturalistic ideas central to contemporary defenders of abortion.
